Building a Monument to First Responders

Screen Shot – Architect site plan for Monument

At a presentation at today’s Rotary Club meeting at the Hilton, James Petrakos, the Principal Architect for TRIA ARCHITECTURE, Inc., revealed the site plan. Here’s a quick photo from his presentation. More will be posted later today. The beams will form a type of garden that can be walked through, and the wall will provide seating and a separation from the many passers by.  the “Herald Wings” as artist Blome calls them, will be more spread and uplifted than shown in the diagram.   There are four beams standing upright, two with detailed bronze spires and wings.  There are two beam remnants lying atop each other in the central garden area, and there will be police and fire uniforms and boots there if donations allow.  It’s an absolutely wonderful and unique sculpture.  We will post more detailed pictures later.
