Building a Monument to First Responders

Building it Right, Building it for Generations

I’d like to extend my apologies for not updating this blog in the past few weeks. Life challenges have kept me very busy, but I will try to post more as we enter into this final phase.

Artist Erik Blome has dutifully completed the sculptural components and the site work continues. Everyone wants to make it the best tribute that we can, and after excavation and soil testing it was determined that the final installation would not be stable without additional and deeper building that originally specified.

Architect Jim Petrakos of Tria Architecture was able to quickly modify his specifications to include sufficient footings and rebuilding of the ground to support everything in such a way that it will last for generations.  As you can see from these photos earlier today, the supports will be deep, reinforced and built right.  We can’t thank Mr. Petrakos and the entire construction team enough for the great care they are taking.  It looks like they are ready to pour as soon as weather improves.
