Building a Monument to First Responders

Successful Gala to Support “We The People” Exhibit at The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn

Last night was beautiful at the Hilton as the entire community came out to support the Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn and the  construction of  the “We The People” Exhibit which will incorporate artifacts from the WTC.   At Patriot Station, children and their families will pass the Oak Lawn Rotary Club’s 9/11 First Responder Memorial on their way inside the Museum.  The new exhibit will carry inside the positive message of what our First Responders do and what it means to be American.

In this photo, bid cards are being held up by donors in support of the “We The People” Exhibit.

At the Gala, our First Responders were honored, as well as Jerry Hurckes.  The Firefighters and Police Departments helped the museum construct new exhibits at the Museum throughout the year.  Jerry Hurckes made a surprise donation of $5,000 in  honor of the memory of Meghan Hurckes as he accepted his award.  Congratulations to the honorees and the museum on a successful gala.
